Our Story
This church began as a dream in the hearts of Pastors Bob and Sybille Trombi. Upon moving to the Gresham in 2002, after 12 years of ministry experience, they started Champions Church that year. In the fall of 2014, the church moved into their current newly purchased and renovated facility on Powell in Gresham and changed the name to City Park Church.
Prior to starting City Park Church they lived in Graham, Washington and were the full time executive pastors of Student Ministries at Champions Centre in Tacoma now one of the largest churches in the Pacific Northwest with over 10,000 people.
Bob and Sybille have served as children’s pastors, youth pastors, conference speakers and church ministry consultants both extensively in the USA and on 5 different continents. They still travel and help churches build ministries that build the church by speaking to youth, children, teachers and adults.
Their success in ministry can be summed up in one word–creativity. If you are looking for a bland, ordinary church–you’re looking in the wrong place! Bob and Sybille’s creative style of ministry connects with people and ignites them in their walk with God. They believe church should be fun and not boring. This motivates them to continually seek the Lord for new and creative ideas to reach people with the good news!
We are all passionate about reaching people from all walks of life in the East Multnomah County area and growing an exciting, inspiring, life-giving church that will “Love God and Love People.”
Pastors Bob and Sybille have three children, all of whom are involved in the vision and ministry of City Park.
